Want a gold sash for Carnival?

Hi MBZ1 Studio,

Times are tough. There are no easy answers. Yet, being together in this helps.

I will continue to schedule gatherings that promote mindfulness and compassion and also broadcast guided meditations on the radio station.
It is the best I can do.

Our next two members’ meditation labs are in-person:

• Sunday July 13th at 3pm at the studio office in Cambridge, Magazine Street
• Weds August 20th, coffee & eggs at 11am, then tent-side meditation labs in Eastham MA (Cape Cod)

Party

The tent-side meditation in August is on a Wednesday on Cape because the P’Town Carnival parade/party is happening the next day on Thursday August 21.

Partying to celebrate queer freedom is one of the revolutionary acts that we can do.

Bringing friends?

If you want to join us for our gathering, but you’re vacationing with friends/family who don’t meditate, you have options. Option 1 is to ask them to come with you. Option 2 is to give them a beach book to read and sneak away for two hours. As long as the folks you are vacationing with are okay with being without you from 11am to 1pm on Weds Aug 20th we can make it work.

This event is Yin Yang Theory in action

During our event, the intention is to go within for grounding and focus on Wednesday, and then go out to celebrate and represent on Thursday. If you haven’t yet heard me talk your ear off about yin-yang theory… well, much of what we do at studio MBZ1 includes switching from yin to yang in order to promote health, balance, and flexibility.

• Stillness practices like silent meditation are predominately yin.
• Expressive practices like mindful movement, yoga, marching, and bearing witness are more yang in nature.
• Our MBZ1 retreats include both yin components and yang components on purpose.
  

Yet, what about the FASHION?!

The Thursday parade in P’Town has a dress up theme of “Summer Camp.”

We have a new studio member who is putting together a Boi Scout outfit, and my outfit is going to have an Earth-Mother/Forest-Goddess theme. I got a bunch of gold material to make scout sashes for our crew.
