Expanding Consciousness
Have you seen Mr. Spock play 3D chess? Rodenberry used 3D chess in Star Trek to show Spock’s multidimensional thinking skills.
Lately, I’ve been considering a 3D version of tic tac toe to demonstrate what I see happening for meditation students as they deepen their practices.
I created this cardboard version of what I’m talking about.

If you want to stick with 2 dimensions, you can. The white pieces above show a winning move. You can simply get 3 in a row across the top board. It works precisely like a normal game of tic tac toe.
But the ways to win become expanded when you add two more boards beneath the top board.
Each board continues to count as a standalone game. So, each of the 3 boards can give you an opportunity to get 3 in a row.
BUT! When you combine 3 boards on top of each other, you can then get 3 in a row going down or across the 3 boards. For example, the pink playing pieces are almost, but not quite, in a winning position.
Adding more dimensions doesn’t necessarily change the original game, it expands it.
In meditation classes, I see students start to “connect the dots” of their lives using expanded dimensional awareness.
It’s a meditator’s superpower, just sayin.’
But, you do need to do the practice if you want to build the skills. Just like you have to go to the gym if you want to build your muscles. That’s why we have a studio for practice. It’s the meditator’s version of a brain-gym.
Our next Labwork classroom is Tuesday June 24th online. Join the membership if you would like to try to workout your brain. There’s also a 5:55 members email this week about meditating in order to get superpowers.
