Nice Sounds
This week, MBZ1 Radio was complimented for playing pleasant nature sounds.
It can be very helpful to have some kind of sound playing in the background. So sometimes people play a TV show or podcast while doing work. Yet, ambient sounds can be nicer since there’s no human voices that might distract you. And if you are meditating rather than working, then the relationship to sound gets more complex.
You’ve probably heard the track of bird sounds on the MBZ1 radio station rotation. Those tracks are from the BBC. The BBC has a website of nature sounds that you can download for free, and you can use them as long as you follow their copyright restrictions.
Another great resource for exploring ambient sounds is a music substack newsletter called Flow State. Every Monday they send out an email with two hours of music that has no vocals.
Years ago I had a yoga sound track that included wooden flutes and Tibetan bowls.
