Signal vs Noise
Hello folks,
You might have noticed that I鈥檝e added two emojis to these Sunday newsletter headlines. Sun and Pause. I liked communicating our studio鈥檚 intentions in such a succinct way. Let me know what you think.

And since the topic is communicating, let鈥檚 revisit the concept of signal to noise.
The Signal To Noise Ratio: STNR
"Signal-to-noise ratio is a measure used in science and engineering that compares the level of a desired signal to the level of background noise."
My project for this year is to boost the signal about the intention behind meditation practice using our radio station. I am continuing to contemplate the the level of noise I have found on the internet about pop culture鈥檚 interest in meditation.

My email inbox has a number of advertisements from apps/videos that promise that you can "reconnect with your authentic self" or "move from stuckness into freedom." While it's difficult to find fault with the impulse for betterment within the specific texts of these messages, I have a general uneasiness about it.
Is the conversation about optimization? Is it about control? Is it as simple as a request for money in exchange for services? What's being sold to me here?
My intention is to continue a type of inquiry that questions the questions themselves. (Ha!)
At the studio we will be continuing the conversation in our monthly group meetings, coaching calls, and then we will deepen the inquiry at our next beach retreat in May.
I hope you plan to participate,
-Gena
