My take-aways from meta awarenesses
The video from last Sunday’s webinar is being edited. If you are following the Studio Planner, your optional homework will be to watch the video once it’s posted.
My own take aways from Sunday’s classroom include an appreciation for meta awareness.
A meditator’s note:
Metta, as in Metta Meditation, with two T’s, is from the Pali language. It means loving kindness. Meta, with one T, is from the Greek language. It means above.
We took a moment during our webinar to reflect upon where we are at, as a result of doing meditations. I described a graph of personal moods, and I made an air-diagram of how each day can have its ups and downs.

And then I described how, if you can “zoom out” from just one day, and see a bigger picture of changes over time, you learn more about the long term benefits of meditation.

Many times, the longer-term benefits cannot be seen within one day, or one month, or even one year.

From this graph, you can see that having a “bad day” drop in mood level is not as much of a disaster… once you have raised your stress hardiness over time.
So it was good to take a moment during this month’s webinar to reflect on the fruition of meditation practice.
Even though a single day has it’s ups and downs, stress resilience can and does strengthen with practice.
I created these graphs in order to demonstrate why the Mindful Boston studio planner is here for the long term.
We are dedicated to creating structures that support you in stress resilience.
I’m currently creating fall programs.
I hope you can carve out some time to join us!
